Why not hire a dayboat for the day to meander the local canals? It's a perfect day out for all the family and a great way to relax as you cruise the Cheshire Canals! Full instructions will be given before departure and soon you too could be cruising on the Inland Waterways for a lethargic day out on the Cut. Bring a picnic or stop off at one of the local canalside pubs along the way!

Macclesfield Canal society publishes a fantastic illustrated guide to the canal with a map showing key features and pubs along its length. Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield has been the family home of the Bromley Davenports since 1726.The distinctive Jacobean style house with its Georgian Chapel and delightful gardens and lakes is set in over 100 acres of parkland. The fresh and vibrant interior contains an amazing collection of historic paintings; marbles; sculptures; porcelains; English; European; Far Eastern and American antique furniture collected by family members.
Capesthorne Hall is Open to the public on Sundays, Wednesdays and all Bank Holidays, from April to October inclusively. The Gardens and Chapel are open from 12 noon to 5pm. The Hall is open at 1.30pm until 4.00pm with last admission at 3.30pm.
Organised parties are welcome on the usual open days. Parties of over 25 are welcome on other days too, or Wednesday evenings, throughout the season, by arrangement. There is ample parking.
Behind the scenes Textile related guided tours can be arranged, in advance, for groups of between 25 & 50. On non-open days only.
