Places to Visit in South East Cheshire

For those who prefer a more tranquil way of life the well-preserved inland waterways network of the Macclesfield and the Trent and Mersey Canals enable you to sit back, relax and watch the world go by, whilst ambling through beautiful scenery into the market towns and villages these waterways once served. Moor your boat and stroll through open countryside and discover historic treasures such as 'Little Moreton Hall', one of the finest examples of a timber framed moated Tudor house in England.

Rich in the creative arts, visitors to Congleton Borough can choose to escape normality and be entertained by the 'Clonter Experience' where recent performances have included Puccini's Madama Butterfly or to go longbow making at 'The Potters Barn' where adults and children can enjoy a play with clay or can participate in one of the specialist ceramics courses on offer.

Whatever the season visitors calling at Jodrell Bank can view the unique Lovell Telescope from many angles, whilst strolling through the 35 acre Arboretum with national collections of Malus and Sorbus.
